Alloy Worm Gear Axles for the Orlandoo. And now for something completely different! These worm drive axles are fully ballraced, with all brass gears. The alloy housings come in a choice of polished silver or anodized red finish, and also have a menacing skull emblem machined into the front face.

They are finished with stock Orlandoo plastic c-hubs, knuckles and end caps. They also utilise stock V01 CVDs and V03 stub axles for maximum compatibility. Not only do they come fully ballraced, you also get all the necessary fitting hardware. Included are steering linkage, ball head screws, and M2 Nyloc wheel nuts.

Furthermore, you have the choice of 51mm or 56mm width. 51mm matches the stock ‘A’ axle width, as found under the OH35A01 Jeep, OH32A02 Pajero and OH32A03 Defender. The 56mm variant will provide a wider track for the models above, but will also be useful for custom builders.

Note: These axles ARE NOT compatible with the OH35P01 Ford F150, OH32X01 Rock Bouncer, Tiny4x4 DooRok or R32. The Worm Axles do not have any integral servo mount and require a chassis-mounted servo.

So what’s with the worm? Even seasoned drivers can get caught out as their truck rolls forward that extra 1/8 – 1/4 turn after releasing the throttle. Worm drive axles provide instant friction braking at the axle, allowing for much finer control over wheel placement. Now you can virtually eliminate the effects of natural slop in your drivetrain!

Worm drive also provides a much lower ratio, removing stress from further up your driveline and also removing any worries about torque twist. The ratio of these axles is 18:1, compared to the stock 2:1 for Orlandoo ring/pinion axles. The higher friction of a worm drive does mean these axles are not naturally suited for high-speed applications. The lower ratio also means you will see a reduction in top end speed when fitting to your Orlandoo, so consider fitting a higher rpm motor to suit your driving preference.
