There is nothing quite as satisfying as shifting gear, hearing the instant change in motor pitch and watching your rig change from speedy trail runner to serious crawler and back again. Yes, it will add some extra weight, but the design is well thought out and keeps the motor low down in the chassis, and it looks simply glorious!

Not only does the alloy 2-speed transmission come with its own skid, we’re also including the required 1.9g shift servo. As well as giving you the advantage of 2 speeds, this unit also boasts counter-rotating 2mm output shafts. This reduces torque twist and also seems to give some climbing advantage, allowing your rig to get more vertical angle before it starts to tip over backwards. You will need to flip one of your axles over if you’re upgrading from a standard orlandoo transfer case, to keep the wheels spinning in the same direction.

The transmission utilizes the existing reverse trans skid, so will drop straight in between any of the ‘A’ Series chassis rails. It is compatible with the OH35A01 Jeep, OH32A02 Pajero and OH32A03 Defender. It is also compatible with the alloy hop-up chassis for the OH35P01. You will need to mount it with the motor facing forward or aft, depending on space available in your rig.

The ratios are stated to be 1:1 and 1:3, so you will see a considerable difference in wheelspeed when shifting gears. It is also possible to set a neutral position if you have a 3-position switch option on your transmitter. The 2-speed transmission accepts standard Orlandoo motor sizes, so can accept an N10, N20 or N30 motor (again dependent on available space). The designer recommends an N20 or N30 motor of 500rpm or higher.
